2 screen installation

The installation “Birch” (2013), a two-channel video installation projected on two opposite walls, showing Lyubov Matyunina in a birch tree costume, standing on my head in birch forests both in my hometown in Russia and in the Netherlands. “Birch” explored the metamorphic transformation of a tree that tries to take root in the ground. This is an investigation about identity and motherland, adaptation to immigration.
